BWSAZ members are encouraged to contribute thought leadership in professional liability by speaking about a professional liability related topic for BWSAZ. Opportunities to raise your hand to speak span from BWSAZ Webinars to Chapter events.

 

 

Information about speaking at National events is below; however, there is a separate call for speakers who are experts on topics specific to the event. Speakers are then selected by the Chairs of the event who look at the knowledge and experience level of potential speakers. Chairs are also provided a list of previous BWSAZ Webinar and Chapter speakers to help them in their search.

Duties:
MODERATE A WEBINAR:

Webinar moderators guide a virtual discussion about a specific topic amongst a selected group of speakers who share differing perspectives on that topic. They also facilitate audience participation in the form of Q&A either interspersed throughout the webinar or at the end.

 

Provide session topic when applicable.

Offer speaker recommendations.

Coordinate the development of webinar slides.

Participate in a planning meeting and walk-through meeting.

Moderate the live webinar including introducing attendee questions to the discussion and fostering aninteractive conversation with speakers. 

 

PRESENT A WEBINAR:

Webinar speakers participate in a virtual discussion about a specific topic amongst a selected group of other speakers who share differing perspectives on that topic.

Prepare a cohesive presentation, including slides or other audience engagement tools, together with the Moderator.

Participate in a planning meeting and walk-through meeting. Speak on the live webinar.

 

PRESENT AT A CHAPTER EVENT:

Presenters work with the Chapter Committee and BWSAZ Staff to develop an engaging, thought- provoking educational session that provides attendees with a deeper understanding of their topic.

Complete and submit required forms and materials to BWSAZ by deadline.

 

Participate in planning sessions facilitated by the Chapter.

Promote the event through personal platforms.

On-site at the event, participate in the discussion as a knowledgeable, articulate, dynamic industry professional.

 

Experience requirements:
Extremely knowledgeable in the specific topic being proposed/presented.

Articulate, dynamic and strong presentation skills.

Prior speaking experience at BWSAZ or other industry events not required, but preferred.

 

Time Commitment:

 

MODERATE A WEBINAR:

• Approximately 4-10 hours between preparation and presentation. 

 

PRESENT A WEBINAR:

• Approximately 3-5 hours between preparation and presentation. 

 

PRESENT AT A CHAPTER EVENT:

• Approximately 3-6 hours between preparation and administrative tasks as outlined above + travel time and time spent at the event.

Opportunities available:

 

MODERATE WEBINAR: approximately 30 per year
SPEAK WEBINAR: approximately 30 per year
PRESENT CHAPTER EVENT: up to 3 per event
